1. California Junior Golf Tour - The Bridge - Pleasanton, CA - February 26-27,2005
Another great time. Casie's first tournament of the year and the first with this great junior tour. Bernie and all his volunteers did a great job on a difficult golf course and threatening weather. They bent the age restrictions a little to let Casie in and (I) was thankful.
Although Casie did not score well on very difficult track placing second was a great accomplishment. This tour is a fun experience and should be tried. Is was run very very well. Check out all the great people we met in the pictures contained in the web page. IT WAS AWESOME !!!!!!
2. Jekyll Island Cup - Brunswick GA- Febuary19- 21, 2005
Another great time. Casie's Second Tournament of the year and the first in Georgia. Finishing 3rd in a field of 16 was a great finish that started kind of rough. Very nervous the first day with a new pre-shot routine 41 was the best that could be expected. The second day 35 (1 under par) was a great finish. Even though her caddy (dad) sucked the second day it was truly a time to remember . Check out all the great people we met in the below pictures. IT WAS A GREAT TIME !!!!!! Hopefully Casie will see you all again next year.
3. Oakmont Junior- JGANC -Santa Rosa, CA- May 7, 2005
After an 8 week lay off do to a broken wrist a great second place finish. Casie scrambled all day. Under the circumstances 2nd place is better then 3rd place. congratulations to Kristine Odaiyar on a great win By the way tournaments are meant to be fun and this one was.
4. Bartley Cavanaugh Junior Classic.- The First Tee of Sacramento - Sacramento, CA - May 21, 2005
It should be noted that Casie played in the Manteca City Championship first round (18 holes) in the morning and the Bartley Cavanaugh Junior Classic (another 18 holes) in the afternoon. That being said a great day of golf and a second place finish in the girls 12 to 14 age group. Sorry no pictures from this one..
5. Tokay Junior Classic - JGANC- Woodbridge Golf & Country Club - Lodi, CA - June 8 & 9, 2005
A horrible 82 started I am told with an attempt to hit a 60 yard club 120 yards. We were hoping Casie forgot she was 9. I guess not. This was two days of silly errors and bad judgment. The 41, 41 was less then captivating. That being said it was a great learning experience I hope takes hold.. Fun tournament that I thankfully missed. A well run one though Casie will be back at we hope. With a second place finish in the girls 11 and under age group an interesting start to June.
6. A. G. Spanos Junior Classic - The First Tee of Sacramento - Mather Air Force - June 14, 2005
Every year in the 3 years we have done this web site I have written one word - DISASTER- in at least one place in every year. I had hoped this year would be different. NOT Why must we all endure one more disaster capped of by the sacrificial burning of ones putter. Because we have to. After hitting 13 of 14 fairways and 11 of 18 greens the putter was destroyed as to not endure 9-3 putts and 3-4 putts again. The 18 hole score (high summer temperature) I hope only happens again after this web master have developed Alzheimer's so as not to notice. The score card was burned in the back yard under darkness as to not offend the golf gods. (Just kidding about the Alzheimer's.) A horrible golf day capped off by a great lunch after the event. Congratulation to all the winners. All pictures were destroyed. No addition link will be supplied.
7. Salinas Little Peoples Championship- JGANC- Salinas, CA - June 24-25, 2005
Awesome !!!!! On June 16th and 17th Casie participated for 4th time in the Salinas Little People's Golf Tournament. And for he second time was the Girls overall champion. With a 32, 30 over two days improved over last years score even with an awful putting day on the 16th. By the way tournaments are meant to be fun and this one was again.
Awesome !!!!! Casie participated for first time in an Optimist International qualifier even though at 9 she was one year too young. It was held in conjunction with TFTS Plumas Lake CC Junior. It seems we have all exorcized the 3 putt demons only allowing participation on one hole. Casie's play in the month of June has improved greatly and this tournament is no exception. As a result for the first time this year Casie was the Girls 12-14 year old Champion in an TFTS event. This tournament was a great deal of fun and the golf course was in great shape. Congrats to all.
9. Mountain Shadows Foxtail Junior Classic - JGANC - Rohnert Park, CA - June 26,2005
Awesome !!!!! For the 3rd time in June Casie finished first in a golf tournament. Last year Casie tied for second in the girls 11 and under having won in a putt off. This year Casie won closet to the pin and won the girls 11 and under division. Congratulations to Dan Thurston and his group for running a great event. What a great day. Great tournament. Great effort
Awesome !!!!! For the 4th time in June Casie finished first in a golf tournament. Teamed with golf instructor and friend David Balbi Casie's team scored a low gross 64. With a net 2 under 70 what a great day. Considering the very interesting start to the month 4 first place showings is nothing short of miraculous. Having never played in a best ball event it was interesting to see how Casie would react. This was a great fund raiser to benefit Sacramento area high school golf teams and Casie hopes next year to be on an all female team. Congratulations to Angie Dixon and her group for running a great event. What a great day. Great tournament. Great effort by all. For some reason there were not many pictures of this event. However you may check out the one picture that seems to have been taken by clicking above.
11. U.S. Kids Golf Qualifier - Shore Line Golf Links - Mountain View, CA - June 29,2005
Having to scramble (only hit 2 greens) to a 2 under 34 I hope is a sign of things to come. Finishing first for the 5th time in June caps off a great month. For the third time Casie qualified to go to Williamsburg Virginia and play in the US Kids Golf World Championships as the Northern Californian representative in a girls division. WHAT A RUSH !!!!!
12. Peach Tree Country Club Junior Tournament - The First Tee of Sacramento - Marysville CA - July 18,2005
Great day despite getting stuck in a bunker. Finishing first for the 1st in July is a great feeling to be 1 for 1 in July. Peach Tree Country club did a great job. No pictures from his event. It seems the photographer was to busy working
Great day and another great win. As girls 11 and under over all champion it was a great day. Barrett McGrath and his volunteers did a great job as usual setting up a very difficult golf course. Having to scramble (only hit 5 greens) to a 3 over 39 was a great score. 2 for 2 in July
14. Livermore City Championship - JGANC - Las Positas Golf Course - Livermore, CA - July 20,2005
Great day and another great win. Casie again was the girls 11 and under over all champion. With a 3 under 33 Casie was ready to go to Virginia and compete in the U.S. Kids World Championships . Jim Miller did a great job of setting up this first year tournament.
15. U.S. Kids Golf 2005 World Championships, Williamsburg, VA - July 28- July 30, 2005
Another great time. And the best to date in her young life. Finished 1st (50 + kids from all over the globe) Even though her caddy (dad) sucked again it was truly a time to remember . Check out all the great people we met IT WAS AWESOME !!!!!! Hopefully Casie will see you all again next year to defend her world title Check out the pictures by clicking the link after August 10th 2005.
16. Cold Springs Junior Tournament - The First Tee of Sacramento - Cold Springs CC - Placerville CA - August 1, 2005
After a long day of travel Casie asked to play in this tournament. This was the first time I ever saw her even a little tiered. All things being equal a great day of golf. The combination of tough greens and this being the first time Casie ever saw this golf course ended with a great result Thanks to Mike Silva the Head Golf Professional at Cold Springs for a great set up. Fun was had by all I am sure. Sorry no pictures
2- Time Corena Green 10 and Under Girls Champion
Another great effort the second year finishing first over all in the 10 and under group with a 32 ( with 2 bogey's). Thanks to the Northridge Country Club and The Women's 9 Hole Golf Association of California for a great event . See you next year at Diablo Country Club.
This was the first time Casie ever participated in a team event. As such it was a great learning experience. The 3 -10 player teams were : The First Tee of Sacramento, The North Bay and Northern Nevada. TFTS first place showing was truly a team effort. Thanks to Teal Bend CC and TFTS for a great event .
Rancho Murieta was the site of more then one professional event in the past. From the LPGA, to the Champions Tour they all found this track in the hills very challenging. This difficult 5600 yard experience had elevated greens and double dog legs that made it play more like 6500 yards. This again was the first time Casie ever saw this golf course and as such was a great learning experience. As the last competitive event before school starts it was a great way to cap of summer that can never be equaled. Playing 18 tournaments and having placed first in 16 of them shows all Casie and friends hard work is paying off. Thanks to Rancho Murieta and TFTS for a great event .
20. The Davis GC Junior - Davis Golf Club -The First Tee of Sacramento - Davis, CA - October 8, 2005
Davis Golf course has been around for a long time. This again was the first time Casie ever saw this golf course and as such was a great learning experience. fighting back to a great 75 dispite a quadruple bogy 8 and a triple bogey 6 . This was the first true test of the new Ping G5's. We think they should get an A +. Thanks to Davis GC and TFTS for a great event .
